Jesse Beaton hails from Fremantle, Western Australia. After graduating from John Curtin College of the Arts, Jesse attended Edith Cowan University where he obtained an Advanced Diploma of Commercial Music through WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). Jesse then worked abroad in Japan as an English teacher for a year before returning to Fremantle to pursue his musical interests.

After performing in various cover bands including “Daren Reid and the Soul City Groove”, a prominent cover band in Perth, and “The Layabouts”, of which Jesse was a founding member, Jesse moved to Melbourne to try his luck with some original bands and to further his studies. Whilst in Melbourne Jesse attended the Victorian College of the Arts, obtaining an Advanced Certificate of Jazz Improvisation and performed with some original bands including “The Go Set” and the “The Treetops” who were signed to a Producer.

After some time in Melbourne, Jesse took off to Europe with “The Go Set” touring through Germany and settled in the UK.  Whilst based in the UK Jesse played with many bands, one of which was “The Super Luckies” who were signed and released a single while he was part of the line-up.

Jesse returned home to Fremantle in 2011 where he re-joined “Daren Reid and the Soul City Groove” and spent a further five years playing all over WA. Jesse has also had the opportunity of performing and recording with artists such as Eskimo Joe, Natalia and Chelsea Basham.

Jesse can now be found as a regular band member of “Rising Sun – a tribute to Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes”, and also “The Bradley Hall Band”, who recently performed at Tamworth Country Music Festival, and won “Video Clip of the Year” at the WA Country Music Awards 2019.  Jesse also plays solo gigs and features in a variety of duos and trios around town performing all your favourite classic hits.

In addition to his gigging around town, Jesse has been focusing on his teaching, spending five years at the Mega Music Academy and for the last three years also teaching at Serpentine Jarrahdale Grammar School.  Jesse returned to Edith Cowan University this year to complete his Bachelor of Music Education.
